Livestrong Fitness LS15.0T Treadmill Review

very nice

By Dave on March 27, 2013
I also purchased this at Dick's Sporting Goods this past weekend. I had planned on testing out one of the lower Livestrong models, but this unit was on sale for $1199, even less than the LS13 on the website. Apparently Dick's is phasing out their connection with Livestrong because of the Lance Armstrong thing. Too bad for them, but good for us (and the company that makes Livestrong, Johnson, makes models for other treadmill lines, so there's no concerns about them going bankrupt and unable to service warranty claims).

At the regular price, it's probably a decent value - there are likely other options to consider at that price point. But at the sales price, it's really compelling. The treadmill is very solid, almost no flexing even at sub 8 min mile pace. Features as compared with Icon fitness models (e.g. Nordic Trac, Proform, Epic, etc.) were a bit minimal, but I think that's a good thing as the manufacturer then puts more into the most important components that influence reliability (e.g. motor, frame, belts, rollers, etc.).

I had been looking for a new treadmill to replace an old Proform for several weeks. There are very few reviews for Livestrong on the internet, so hopefully this will help others. Reviews for Icon models are really all over the place, especially for reliability right out of the box. That was a big turn-off for me (wasn't thrilled with my old Proform) and I did compare Livestrong with a Nordic Trac and Sole model. Nordic Track was okay, but not a big fan of all the bells and whistles I'd probably never use. Wasn't impressed with the Sole at all - frame did not feel solid.
