GREAT treadmill! March 14, 2011
By A. Landry
I did a lot of research both online and in person before making this purchase. I used Consumer Reports as a source. I also went to several sporting goods stores, etc. and actually tried some out --- I found this to be the most valuable information -- first-hand. I was unable to try this actual model, but the T101 was available and I actually liked it even better than many of the more expensive models, so I was confident the T202 would be what I was looking for. The size is great -- not too big but big enough, has the right amount of horsepower. The speakers are not great, but I use a stereo or headphones with MP3 player, so not a big deal for me. My husband had no problems putting it together -- TIPS: make sure to have it in the actual room in which it will be used before putting it together -- it will probably not fit through the door afterwards. Also, make sure to read the troubleshooting tips -- I have found the negative reviews about being "shocked" to be from improper assembly. For the price, a very good mid-range treadmill. So far, I am very pleased. Finally, I chose this brand/model due to its cushioned deck -- it was so much more comfortable that the higher-priced brands/models! I would never have known this if I had not tried them out in person -- makes all the difference!

Solid treadmill, no real complaints, February 21, 2012
By knoxpf01

We purchased this treadmill about a month ago.

Shipping/delivery -- Took less than a week and was free through Amazon. Huge value there for an item that weighs in the neighborhood of 200 pounds. Delivery was through ABF. Once the item got to a local depot, ABF called us to set up a delivery time. Unfortunately their delivery window is 8:00-4:00 and they could not narrow it down any further. So the wife and I took shifts, both taking a half day off work. There was only one delivery guy, so they could only get it in the door. Couldn't move up or down stairs. We had to do that. Word to the wise -- DO NOT take it out of the box or remove the straps on the outside of the box until you have the item in the room where it will go. It becomes very, very difficult to move once the box is opened.

Assembly -- Took about 45 minutes, but would've been shorter if I had started with a ratcheting screwdriver with an allen bit. It comes with a couple handled allen wrenches, but trust me, the ratcheting screwdriver is your friend. Very intuitive, directions easy to follow. The last step in the instructions is to apply silicone under the running belt. Which is all well and good but it requires loosening of the belt. Which is all well and good except the manual says the belt comes shipped with the proper tightness. Which is pointless because the first thing you have to do is loosen it. So when you tighten it again you have to do quite a bit of tweaking to get it right. You don't really know when it's tightened properly except by look and feel. Which sucks a little.

Use/Interface -- If it has a cool down feature, we haven't figured it out. So once your run or walk is over, it just stops. I'm sure there's a way to program it to have a few minutes cool down at the end, but a button or easy way to do it would be nice. The ipod controls work great. Nike + works fine. Treadmill rattles a little when running but nothing major. Pretty smooth. We have it in a second floor room in a 112-year old house and it doesn't shake the room. In the room below it you can hear it and definitely know when someone is running (walking is quieter of course), but it's no big deal. So shock absorption is good. Heart rate monitor handles seem to work after a few seconds.

Overall -- For the price, this is a very good quality piece of equipment. It would be nice if it had a wireless heart rate monitor capability to work with a band. I think I read their next model up has this. We use it quite a bit and so far it is holding up well. We are very happy with this purchase.
