From the Novice Point of View, June 15, 2012
V. Condon "Just Browsing" (So Cal)
I'm no expert on treadmills, and I'm not much for writing reviews, and I haven't had the product for too long, but I had to comment that I completely love this treadmill. I previously had the Pro-form, and when someone ran on it the noise was such that everyone else pretty much had to leave the room. With this treadmill we can sit in the same room watching TV with no issue. In terms of logevity I cannot comment, and I had my Pro-form for 10 years, so we were quite bonded. But how quickly I've turned my back because the size, smoothnes, noise level of this treadmill puts my old treadmill to shame. I will repost if we have any issues but for now I'll say it was completly worth paying a little extra for this machine.

Alright where to start probably the cons list. It's heavy.. I mean heavy around the 300lb mark easily which for me requires my husband to move by himself it's heavy but managable it does have wheels. Now for the good everything. The fan is basic and simple two speeds low and high which work well for me. The space saver feature is nice and it lets down nice and easy when released compared to some treadmills that drop. I wanted something that I could use to help me get exercise since I am pregnant. While I don't run on the treadmill I've noticed a lot of negatives about the quick buttons when in quick start mode.

TO MAKE THE 2-4-6-8 SPEED AND INCLINE TO WORK WHILE IN QUICKSTART MODE SIMPLY HIT THE BUTTON THEN HIT ENTER TO CONFIRM YOU WANT THAT SETTING CHANGED.

Sorry it wasn't hard to figure out and frustrating when people in some reviews say it doesn't work well sorry it does, it just doesn't instantly change. I find that you need to confirm a good thing it gives you a second to decide and if it was an accident don't hit enter and it will stay at the same speed you had originally. The profiles take a second to set up but the manual helps. I also find the chest band heartrate moniter to be very nice. If your a tall person it would be easier to use than the hand rails probably. I also like that I'm not stuck only doing the .5 incriments for speed. Sometimes 2.5mph is to slow and 3mp is too fast. Since I walk for my overall pregnancy health I find it to be a wonderful addition to my home. It will also be used for running and jogging from me after my pregnancy is over. My husband finds the treadmill easy to use and while he doesn't use it as much as me (he does pt 5days a week) he'll still hop on a few times a week to get a quick run in. It's an awesome treadmill. I like that the power button is by the motor and circuit breaker and away from all the buttons closer to the power source. I also like that if you don't have the safe key in it will not run. I find it safe and while it takes a few extra seconds it's worth it. It only takes two seconds to push the button on and put the key in. If you leave the key in then less time. I find if you complain about the little things then your expecting way to much from a personal treadmill. The ones in the gyms are not like the ones for sale regularly to the public we get regular the gyms have industrial meant to be on 24/7 and take a pounding constantly. While it may seem like a personal one could'nt take a pounding during a workout it can. This is a solid treadmill, it's not made for being on 24/7 it's made for a family to use and pound away the miles on. It's also lighter than the industrial and has such a solid frame. Frankly besides it being heavy I see no downsides to it. I love all the features, how simple it is to use, set up and maintain (I did read the manual which did not take long at all). Frankly I've gotta say Schwinn's 860 treadmill really makes me feel happy. It gives me a source in my home to get a cardio workout and really has been a wise purchase for me. Bottom line is I love this treadmill.
